Outfit Your Dog With A Custom Harness
Trenchless sewer pipe repair is a process by which a plumbing service repairs pipe lining that is cracked, or replaces the pipe entirely, without any major digging that would tear up your house and yard. Gone are the days when excavation is necessary to replace pipe. There are two methods of trenchless sewer pipe repair, pipe relining and pipe bursting, and both of them require only the digging of one or two small access points.
The pipe relining method inserts a flexible, felt-impregnated fiberglass line coated with resin into the cracked or otherwise damaged sewer pipe. Once the line is removed and the resin hardens, which takes only a few hours, the damaged pipe is now relined and is as good as new. This does reduce the diameter of the sewer pipe by a quarter inch or so, but it shouldn’t affect its waste-removing capacity. The relined pipe is very durable, lasting up to 50 years.
The pipe bursting method involves preparing an entirely new sewer pipe and bursting and pushing aside the old pipe as the new one is installed. The new sewer pipe is fitted with a bursting head, which is strong enough to destroy and push aside the old pipe, whatever it is made out of. The new pipe is pulled along the line of the old pipe and simply replaces it. Some pipes installed using this method are extremely durable, protecting against root intrusion and other problems.
The old method of excavation was not only destructive, but expensive as well. Fortunately, that’s a thing of the past. Whichever of these two new methods you choose, your cracked or otherwise damaged sewer pipe will be replaced by a newer, stronger one. And, even better, both methods require only minimum digging. The pipe relining method needs only one small access point, while the pipe bursting method usually needs two. Both methods also provide long-lasting results. If you need to replace a sewer pipe and you’re worried about tearing up your yard, you can set your mind at ease. Trenchless sewer repair is a great innovation in plumbing, saving your yard and your wallet.
